The best part is, it’s already in your closet.

The internet is brimming with ways to help you increase your confidence. Many of these are extremely helpful. Yet, they're also time consuming.

Increasing your confidence generally takes time and requires a step-by-step process to ensure longterm success. But, what if it didn’t really have to?

What if you could instantly boost your confidence and maintain this level all day long?

Well, you can and here’s how.

Open your closet and pick out one piece of clothing or accessory that makes you feel awesome!

It’s that easy and simple.

When you wear your best clothes, or in my case shoes — hence my fav pair in the picture above — you stand taller, breathe deeper and feel better.

Scientists call this Enclothed Cognition.

Yes, there’s even science on this shit!

What it means is that the clothes we wear play on the our psychological processes. In other words, we act out what we’re wearing.

So if you wear a tailored suit jacket for example, you feel more powerful and confident. Not surprisingly, you also act this way too.

Whereas, when you wear sweats all day — like me on my momming-it-all-day days — you tend to omit this type of lazier, take your time, make more mistakes approach.

As Mary Kay Ash, founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics, put it

While clothes may not make the woman, they certainly have a strong effect on her self-confidence, which, I believe does make the woman.

Naturally, this also applies to you men out there too.

Clothes allow us to express our individuality. Even one piece can impact how we perceive ourselves and present ourselves to the world.

How to make your boost of self-confidence stick all day long

When you decide to pull out your favourite pumps, or press your lucky shirt for your interview tomorrow, make sure to look at yourself in the mirror a few times during the day.

When you do, you’ll get that same surge of fuck I look awesome that you had when you first got dressed in the morning.

With each glance, absorb your positive energy. Breathe in deep. High-five yourself and tell yourself how great you look.

If you’re up to it and feeling a little sassy, add in a dance to make you smile and brighten up your day even more.

Throughout the day, when there’s no mirror in sight, think back to how you felt when you first put that special article on. Sit up taller and breathe it in again. Smile and allow yourself to feel great.

For the best confidence boosting results Ok, I’m not going to lie to you. If you want to be confident for the majority of your life, you do need to put in some work.

Luckily, part of the work, actually, a huge part, is by “acting” the part. Fake it till you make it.

A fantastic way of doing this is by dressing like the person you want to be.

Essentially and simply by wearing the clothes that make you feel phenomenal, you’re already well on your way to maintaining your confidence each and every day.

The main thing is to repeat this process as often as possible.

Make it easy, by opening up your closet and stepping into what will make you feel great.

One outfit. One pair of shoes. One accessory. Each of these has the power to boost your self-confidence in a super easy and simple way. All you need to do is put it on and breathe in the feeling it gives you.
